Business insurance

Insurance that follows the contract.

Commercial cover is shaped by three documents: your accounts, your contracts and your policy schedule. When those three disagree, the disagreement surfaces at claim.

By exposure

Start from what could interrupt the business

01
The premises stop working
Damage to buildings, plant or stock, and the trading period that follows while they are reinstated.
02
Someone is injured or something is damaged
Claims from employees, the public or users of your products, and the limits your contracts require you to hold.
03
The advice or work turns out to be wrong
Claims arising from professional services, written on a claims-made basis where continuity matters.
04
The systems go down or data is exposed
Incident response, digital interruption and third-party liability, increasingly subject to control conditions.

Sectors

We do not claim specialist expertise in every industry. Where a trade has features that change the placement, such as hot work, work at height, food handling, regulated advice, goods in transit or long-tail liability, we will say so at the outset, and where a risk needs a specialist we will tell you that too.

If your contracts, funder or landlord impose insurance requirements, send the clauses with your enquiry. They usually determine the limits before anything else does.

Nothing on this page confirms that cover can be arranged for a particular business, activity or contract. Availability, terms and pricing are determined by insurers on the basis of the information presented to them.
